What is Foundations For Success?

Foundations For Success is a program tailored for adults finally ready to take steps toward earning their GED. Rather than a traditional tutoring approach, it offers a 12-week journey of self-discovery. If you're frustrated from repeatedly attempting to achieve your GED without success, the issue may not lie in motivation but in preparation. A Second Start builds with you a personalized, structured roadmap. Your weekly engagement in the process will result in a changed mindset and an enhanced commitment to finally follow-through.

How do I register?

First, request a Clarity Questionnaire. This will provide information for the next step, the Clarity Call. During the 30-minute conversation, your coach will help you define and get clarity around YOUR personal path towards a GED, what has worked, what has not, and how A Second Start can guide your success. Both the Questionnaire and the Clarity Call are risk free. If your roadmap isn't for you, walk away. No strings attached. However, if you leave with a new vision of actually doable next steps, if you are excited and motivated to move forward, A Second Start is for you.

How do I pay?

Payment is made online through the Plans and Pricing page. Registration and payment must be completed at least three business days prior to the start of the cohort. A Second Start accepts most major credit cards. If you currently are working with a county or state social service agency that supports educational advancement, tuition assistance may be available. Check with your case worker for further information.

What is A Second Start Cohort?

A cohort consists of individuals who begin and end their 12-week program at the same time, with coaching conducted one-on-one (no group sessions). The next Foundations For Success cohort begins August 1, 2026, followed by beginning dates of January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st (2027).

What do I need to have in order to start?

The only requirement is a willingness to begin. We'll build the rest together. Come with an open mind and a willingness to grow. You don't have to feel confident—that's something we'll build together. You don't have to have all the answers but simply show up consistently, ask questions (especially when you're stuck), practice what we discuss between sessions, and believe your past does not determine your future. Technical requirements consist of a reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet (a laptop is recommended for the best experience), a webcam and microphone for Zoom coaching sessions, an email address for receiving weekly materials, a notebook or binder for organizing your work, and a quiet space where you can focus during our weekly sessions.
